About the Demonstation

More and more people are wanting a different, and better kind of relationship with their horses.. They're looking to build a foundation with their equines, that is based on empathy and equality. Force-Free Horsemanship does exactly that. It means that our horse is a active & willing participant in their own education, which occurs without force or coercion, and allows the horse the freedom to choose and to voice their needs and wants. If you've ever heard of force-free horsemanship, positive reinforcement or reward-based training but aren't sure where to start or what it entails but would like to learn more then this Demonstration Clinic is for you! In this clinic we will focus on Force Free Horsemanship and the basics behind it. We will talk about • What IS force free and what does it mean to use a force free approach • The first steps of implementing force-free into your current education system. • Food Rewards and how to use them safely and without coercion • How to Implement this approach into riding, Daily Routine, Health Care as well as groundwork Sessions. • How to deal with unwanted behaviours without force or corrections. • How this approach looks like with horses at various experience levels. • Learning Theory, LIMA, Shaping, Targeting and MORE! The day will start at 11:00am at 1890 Sooke Lake Road, Shawnigan Lake and finish at around 5pm. We will do a theory presentation before lunch is provided at 12:30, and continuing with a Demonstration of multiple horses afterwards.
